Grading Policy
One midterm worth 30 points. One final worth 40 points. Ten lab assignments worth 3 points each. Total score for the quarter is the sum of the total quiz, midterm, final, and lab scores. Students will be ranked by total score. Depending on the nature of the rankings, reasonable points on a scale from 0 to 100 will be chosen as break points to decide final grades. There will be some movement up or down depending on participation and how well I get to know you. A student who impresses may be given a grade that is higher than indicated by his or her total score. A student who plagiarizes is subject to extreme penalty: at least 1/2 of a letter grade drop but more likely an F.
